I hear it from clients all the time: They want a gorgeous, designer dress for their maternity session but can't afford to buy one.
I completely get it! If you want a pinterest-worthy maternity session without the price tag, and you're just not seeing anything that catches your eye in my client closet, I highly suggest renting your maternity gown! These photos are a once in a lifetime opportunity, and you want to look and feel your best. So, I've compiled a list of my favorite local vendors that rent out their gorgeous gowns for your maternity session!
Seriously, you guys, this company has EVERYTHING you could ever dream of wearing for your maternity session! They have some of the best pricing I've seen, not to mention you can keep the dress for up to 10 days, which is great in case we ever have to reschedule because of crazy Texas weather. They have dresses from all the top maternity vendors- Chicaboo, Sew Trendy, PinkBlush, you name it! I like this option for my high-risk mamas who are on light duty or even bedrest, because even though they're a local company, all their dresses are shipped out. This keeps you off your feet so you can stress even less about your photos.
This is a local photographer who has several boho couture dresses that would just be absolutely STUNNING for a maternity session! They even have adorable dresses for your little mini-me.
This is one of my good friends. She rents everything from maternity gowns to adorable outfits for newborn and sitter sessions! She has recently transitioned to a facebook group format for rentals. She only rents to other photographers, so be sure to reach out to me so I can get you in touch about how to rent from her amazing array of outfits.
I will be adding to this list as I find more resources for dress rental for my amazing pregnant clients! As of right now, I also know of 3 other local photographers who rent their gowns and just haven't had a chance to photograph them all yet. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you don't see what you're looking for on this list.
And, just for kicks, a few of my favorite non-local places for renting maternity gowns:
Seriously. These dresses are actually a dream come true. They're pricey to buy because each one is handmade from vintage lace scraps and completely unique. They have several travelling dress options and quite a few that you can rent, too! I also know of several local photographers who own one or two and are willing to rent. Check out their Etsy shop for dresses available to rent.
All the boho vibes with this shop! I especially love the color and textures they offer, too. Pretty much the same as with Reclamation, you can rent directly from their Etsy shop, or they also have a Facebook group where you can buy one gently used by other photographers or even just mamas that didn't end up wearing theirs again! Erika rocked a Flutter Dress for her gorgeous snowy maternity session back in January, pictured at the top of this blog.
