Support is a huge thing when it comes to a small business. I love to shop local so I can lend my heart and hand to other small business owners. One way you can help me do this is to check out my favorite local boutiques when you're putting outfits together for a photo shoot. I know how stressful it can be when trying to get together everyone's outfits for their photos. Don't worry, these five local boutiques have you covered when it comes to top notch fashion!
Hipster Baby is one of the coolest places you'll ever find to shop. The merchandise definitely lives up to the store name. Everything is one-of-a-kind. They have a million different brands so your kid won't dress like every other kid at school. This is definitely my favorite store on the list, and anytime I dress my son in something I got from Hipster Baby, I always get asked a million times where his outfit came from! Best of all, they have sizes from newborn to kids so you can match the kiddos if you want for photos. The owners started the store because they could never find enough boy styles of clothing. There's usually a huge girls' section with a tiny boys' section. Hipster Baby brings you both sections filled with cool styles. Best of all, it's all funky and fresh. One thing the owner loves is talking with shoppers as they browse the fun clothing. You won't be a stranger for long when you're in this store.
Small Pockets is what you get when consignment meets boutique clothing. They only carry the top brands. Even the gently used clothing is top notch. About 30% of their clothing is brand new. I like it because not much is ever the same. You're not going to find things in there that you find at Target and Walmart because they only carry boutique brands. Now, you can find Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Under Armour, and Crewcuts if you want some of the big chain brands. If you can't get to the actual store, they offer an Instashop on Instagram so they'll mail it right to you. One huge perk of this store is monogramming. They even have bloomers and gowns in the store ready to be monogrammed. Small Pockets with big deals!
Rockin' A B
Rockin' A B is more than just clothing. It has gifts for the entire family. You can find pretty much any size you need from infant to teenagers. They even have their own line of inspired vintage apparel. The vintage touch is on so many of the items from the clothing to the toys. They carry some of the cutest shoes I've ever seen in the most popular brands. As for clothing, it's always new and different than other stores. Nothing ever stays the same so they're always getting in new, cute clothing for all ages of kiddos. Rockin' A B calls themselves an Emporium so you know when you go there, you're going to have a blast shopping for all sorts of fun things!
Hip! Hip! Hooray!
Hip! Hip! Hooray! has the cutest boutique clothes in the world. If you want a smocked dress or an embroidered shirt, this is your place. Hip! Hip! Hooray! keeps it in the family as it is run by three generations of family. They carry the top brands in baby clothing like Florence Eiseman, Kissy Kissy and Feltman Bros. It's not all about clothes either. You can find some of the cutest diaper covers, shoes and even hair accessories. One of the neatest things about this boutique is they offer the largest selection of heirloom Christening and Baptism attire in Dallas.
Blue Jean Baby
Blue Jean Baby is a place you can find outfits for both Mommy and the kids. The owners are sisters who grew up with a love of design mixed with a love of bargain shopping with their mom at vintage stores. They took these experiences and turned them into a hit boutique. The fashions range from the laid-back, classic styles to vintage to top notch fashion. They say their brand is more "minimalist meets farm girl." From vintage Levi's for kids, a faux fur beautiful trench coat to teddy bear sweatshirts for adults, there's so many cute things I cannot contain myself. You can pick up jewelry and other accessories there, too. It's also my little secret place for Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys attire. You never know what all you're going to find at Blue Jean Baby. You can definitely put together some fun, cute outfits for your photo shoots. Then, on the same trip, pick up some vintage items for the home and some more clothes for your everyday life.
Shopping local is the best when you're getting ready for a photo shoot. You can't go wrong with any of these boutiques. Tell me some of your favorites, too!
